The first thing most people think about when they hear Christmas are the words “presents” or “tree,” but the first thing I think of is the warm feeling I get around this time. I think of snow and cheerfulness. Every time someone mentions Christmas, I always have to say, “I feel like everyone is just so happy during Christmas.” I think this is because of the way I celebrate time with my friends and family.
When I think of the times I was at my happiest during Christmas, they are when I was goofing around with my friends or going to a family party with relatives that I haven’t seen in a while. Of course there were times when things became stressful and people were angry, but the point of that is to just forgive and spread love- especially at the people that get upset because they will need the most love at that time.
So what does Christmas mean to me? For me, it means spreading the love that I receive from my family and friends so other people can get to experience the same warm feeling I get every year in December. Everyone should get to share in this feeling of love that God has given us in our hearts, and by spreading this feeling we are spreading the Kingdom of God as a Kingdom of love, participating in the mission of Jesus.
