Summer offers everyone a chance to relax, rest and rejuvenate. Bernie, the STA school mascot, loves to travel throughout the season with members of his STA community, documenting their many adventures and varied experiences. But when it came time to board the USCGC Healy Arctic with science teacher Ms. Piper Bartlett, Bernie sheepishly bowed out.
Aboard the Healy, Ms. Bartlett has been exploring climate change and researching Gray Whales, algae blooms, plankton distribution, seabird populations and much more.
Ms. Barlett will host a live webinar detailing her expedition on August 20th at 5pm EST. The link to register for this free PolarConnect event is https://www.polartrec.com/
Follow along on the rest of Ms. Bartlett's journey by visiting the PolarTREC website at http://www.polartrec.com.
Bernie is excited for Ms. Barlett's return and eager to hear all about her experience this fall as she presents her findings to St. Thomas Aquinas High School students and faculty.
