One of our favorite St. Thomas Aquinas thespians is senior Sam Rogers. A regular on our STA stage, Sam has dazzled many an audience member with his musical and dramatic talent. Soon, Sam will be impressing Seacoast Repertory Theater attendees with this weekend’s performance of The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Based on the Victor Hugo novel and featuring songs from the Disney animated film, Hunchback brings the story of Frollo, Quasimodo and Esmeralda to life. Sam plays Judge Claude Frollo, the main antagonist and ruthless Parisian justice minister who becomes the begrudged caretaker of the deformed “hunchback” Quasimodo.
“I have participated in many performances with Teen Mainstage,” says Sam. “Performers come from many different towns and there is an abundance of great talent.” Teen Mainstage productions are for student actors aged 13-18. They provide young people an opportunity to work closely with a professional production team and affords them an opportunity to take center stage in a full-length Broadway musical or play.
With his natural acting ability, creative interpretation of character development, and rich singing voice, Sam stands out on stage and at school. Congratulations, Sam, on another addition to your acting resume and thank you for contributing your charisma and talent to the area of fine arts.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame will be presented Thursday-Sunday and tickets may be purchased via this link.
