The Benefits Of Education: Kelsey Smith Honored with Travel Award
June 20, 2008STA student Kelsey Smith has won a very special award. She is the recipient of a Bertie Green Junior Travel Award and as a result she will spend two weeks in Mexico this summer as her prize. Kelsey is a member of our Spanish National Honor Society, or the Sociedad Hispanica Honoraria. Annually, each chapter is invited to have one person apply for the scholarship, and Kelsey was STA's representative this year. Of the 1,800 high schools that have chapters, only twenty students are awarded the prize, so Kelsey's achievement is really incredible. Kelsey will get to spend two weeks in Mexico, immersed in the language and the culture, and hopefully having a wonderful time enjoying the reward of all those hours spent with the study of Spanish!
