Goodbye Seniors, Hello Alumni
June 9, 2008Under a sunny Sunday sky, the Class of 2008 went from students to alumni of St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Going into Sunday, the threat of thunder showers and rain had made the graduates and event planners planners nervous, brilliant sunshine prevailed and made the day that much more special.
The 45th Commencement in STA history was a special one. Salutatorian Owen Derby and valedictorian Briana Prager gave tremendous speeches to the large crowd gathered for the graduation. Derby and Prager, bound for MIT and Harvard respectively, expressed their thanks to their classmates and the school for making their high school experience such a good one. "I think we're leaving St. Thomas with more than we could ever have learned form a text book," said Prager.
